Warranty inspections and cleanings will resume at later date and we look forward to providing you with updates on this in the coming weeks.
In addition, to keep in line with the recommended health and safety practices, we have implemented a few important changes.
Here’s what we’ll be doing to keep you safe:
- All visitors must have an appointment booked in advance – this is our way of controlling the flow of people throughout the showroom. If you’d like to visit, please contact us by phone or email to book an appointment.
- To ensure we adhere to social distancing guidelines, we will be limiting visitors to one appointment at a time, with a maximum of two guests attending each appointment.
- New safety practices have been implemented, and all jewellery will be thoroughly cleaned if touched during an appointment.
- All employees will be equipped with personal protective equipment. If you wish to have a pair of gloves or a mask to use during your visit, please feel free to ask.
Here’s what we ask of you:
- When you arrive for your appointment, please phone the front desk to let us know you’re here.
- For security reasons, when you arrive at the door to the showroom, please remove your mask completely (if you are wearing one). Once you have been granted access you are welcome to put your mask on again.
- There will be hand sanitizing stations throughout the store. We ask that upon entering the showroom, you sanitize at the front desk before proceeding to your appointment.
- If you feel unwell, have been in close contact with someone who is unwell, or have recently travelled outside the province, we ask that you please stay at home.
- We thank you for joining us in our continued effort to help flatten the curve and look forward to welcoming you back to Alberta Diamond Exchange!
—The ADX Team
Dear Alberta Diamond Exchange Family,
In response to the COVID-19 virus, we understand the importance of peace of mind each of us needs to feel comfortable during this public health emergency. The health and safety of our clients and staff have always been the highest priority for ADX.
While we have increased the amount of cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces and jewellery, it is also important to reduce the amount of traffic in-store and hand-to-hand contact for all staff and clients. As such, we are temporarily introducing the following services and procedures.
All ongoing projects are currently being worked on, and we’ll reach out to schedule pick-ups or delivery when completed. Payments can be taken over the phone via credit card.
Please keep in mind that because of the uncertainty of shipments, there may be some delays with previously quoted timelines.
Alberta Diamond Exchange would like to offer delivery options for our local clients. For our out of town clients, we can offer shipping options through FedEx. Please contact your sales associate for more information.
If you would like to wait to pick up your pieces, please let us know and we’ll keep them safe for you.
Alberta Diamond Exchange is still operating, but we are reducing our hours. At this time our office will only be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11am to 4pm, and by appointment only.
If you have flu-like or respiratory symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath), or if you have traveled within the last 14 days we ask that you do not come to the office or book an appointment
If you are interested in scheduling an appointment, we are currently offering virtual meeting options via Zoom video conferencing or by phone. This will allow us to provide you with the same level of service that ADX prides ourselves on, while doing our part to keep the community safe through social distancing. Please reach out to your sales associate, or the reception desk at email@example.com to book your virtual appointment.
ADX has temporarily suspended our jewellery cleaning and inspection services and are extending all our warranties.
Here’s a great article on how to keep you jewellery clean at home: How To Clean Your Ring
We thank all our clients for their understanding during this uncertain time. We will continue to monitor the situation as it progresses. Take care of yourself and each other – we are in this together!

A ring, whether for fashion or a symbol of love, is one of the most special possessions you’ll have. A ring with a stunning setting and gorgeous diamonds or gemstones is a great way to accentuate your style and your personality.
Too often, people don’t properly take care of their rings. This can lead to fading colours, cloudy gems, and even broken or lost rings. Diamonds are tough, but not invincible.
We want our clients to enjoy their rings for a lifetime. So, we crafted the ultimate guide to ring care from Alberta Diamond Exchange!
DO keep it clean
Let’s face it; life can be a mess. Indoor or outdoor, day or night, your stuff will get dirty over time. You wash your car and do your laundry regularly, so why not take a few minutes to wash your ring too?
Alberta Diamond Exchange can professionally wash your ring, or you can clean it at home with lukewarm water, mild dish detergent, and a soft-bristle brush.
DO bring it in for inspection every 3 to 6 months
Alberta Diamond Exchange sells some of the most durable and well-built rings available, but even the best need check-ups occasionally. Plan to come in for an inspection every 3 to 6 months. During your inspection, we will check for worn, loose, or broken prongs. We will also make sure that all your diamonds look good, and that your entire ring is structurally sound. After we inspect your ring, we professionally clean your ring so it’ll look spotless when you get it back!
DO store it properly, in a pouch or box is best
Proper storage for your ring can keep it from getting lost or being damaged from improper storage. Pro tip: keep ring dishes around the house. That way, you have a place to put it close by.
DO take it off before applying lotions
Lotion on your ring can be bad business. They can make your ring look dirty. Simply take the ring off, apply the lotion until it’s fully absorbed into your skin, then put the ring back on!
DO insure it!
While your engagement ring may be a symbol of your undying love, insurance will help protect you in case of loss, theft, or fire. Alberta Diamond Exchange suggests contacting your current provider to add a “rider” to your homeowner’s or renter’s insurance to cover your ring. No matter what you choose, always have some sort of insurance.
DON’T wear it to the gym, ever!
Never wear your ring to the gym! A large portion of the ring damage we see every year is from people wearing their rings to the gym. Weights, equipment, and heavy activity aren’t good for your ring; store it safely while you work out or leave it at home.
DON’T wear it in the shower
The shower is also a terrible place to wear your ring. The chemicals found in most shampoos and conditioners can damage your ring, plus there’s a high chance of losing it down the drain! A ring dish would be great in the bathroom!
DON’T wear it to bed
Sleeping with your ring places unnecessary pressure on your prongs, which can wear them out. Fibers from your bedding can also make their way underneath your ring’s prongs, causing them to lift or break. So be sure to take off your ring before you turn in for the night.
DON’T wear it in the water
Oceans, lakes, rivers, and pools can all be bad news! Water can constrict your finger, causing your ring to suddenly become very loose. Before you know it, your ring is swept away! Pools treated with chlorine are especially bad for your ring, so be sure to take it off before you cannonball!
DON’T wear it doing housework
Unless you’re doing extremely light housework, it’s probably best to take off your ring. Even simple tasks like moving the couch a little can harm your ring. Just toss your ring in a ring dish before you get down to business.
